Using Photogrammetry to Obtain 3D-Printed Positive Foot Casts Suitable for Fitting Thermoconformed Plantar Orthoses

The use of photogrammetry provides an inexpensive, alternative method that can simplify the processes traditionally carried out in orthotics workshop. objectives this study are to develop a based on obtain 3D-printed positive foot casts for fabricating thermoconformed orthoses from negative cast phenolic foam. Using basic Smartphone, photo capture protocol feet, free software and 3D printer, we tested suitability obtained fabricate custom using 3 mm polypropylene laboratory. results show digitally fabricated provide very close replicate through plaster casting (maximum dimension discrepancy between 2 length 0.4 forefoot, midfoot rearfoot measurements). They also suitable process 2- 3-mm plantar orthoses. Photogrammetry be used as new orthoses, valid, safe, cleaner more lasting procedure removes casting.
